Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center（GCCC）is a tertiary level, cancer specialty hospital located in the International Medical and Health Demonstration Zone of Sun Yat-sen University in Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC). GCCC was established through partnership between Concord Medical Group and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. The total project investment is expected to exceed 3 billion Chinese Yuan.
At full operational capacity there will be over 400 inpatient beds. The clinical departments at GCCC broadly cover Oncology, Oncology Surgery and Radiation Oncology (including proton therapy). With the support premier international cancer hospitals, GCCC has specialized in cancer diagnosis and treatment, prevention, research, training, and telemedicine. GCCC is also the founding institution of the Society of Tumor Microenvironment, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA).
GCCC began clinical operations in June 2021, receiving patients covered by medical and commercial insurance programs. With over 400 medical staff, GCCC has assembled top experts from around the world: Professor Qian Chaonan, former Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, as President; Dr. Matthew Callister, former Medical Director and Senior Physician Executive of Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Phoenix, as Co-President; and Jennifer Wilson, former Vice President of Nursing of Prince of Wales Hospital, as Vice President of Nursing and Operations. GCCC is also joined by excellent cancer specialists from China and abroad: Professor Su Fengxi, well-known academic leader in breast cancer surgery; Professor Li Zuofeng, former Chief Physicist of Florida Proton Therapy Center in the United States; Dr. Yuan Taize, trained at Mayo Clinic proton center; Professor Li Yang, well-known pathology expert.
